Until his appointment as Minister of Economy and Finance, Sid’ Ahmed Ould Bouh worked as an advisor at the Presidency of the Republic. In his role at the Presidency of the Republic, he served as the General Coordinator of the unit responsible for monitoring the implementation of strategic priorities and was African Union AU Presidency Delegate to the G20.

He completed his primary and middle school education in Aioun, his secondary education in Kiffa and his university studies in Nouakchott, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. He furthered his studies in Tunisia, obtaining an advanced diploma from the National School of Administration, specializing in Public Programming and Audit.

He began his career in 2000 as an administrative officer in the financial department at the Ministry of Finance, then as Head of the Procurement and Investment Expenditure Service at the Budget Directorate, and later as Deputy Inspector General at the General State Inspectorate.
