Wafa Mining & Petroleum SA (WMP SA)  is a subsidiary of Wafa Holding, a family group of enterprises, initially dedicated to general trade and food products supply that opened up to various industrial sectors such as civil  works, real estate, hotels, insurance, import and distribution of petroleum products, fishing, agriculture and banking.

WMP SA was established in 2010 to deal with the mining sector and widened its scope in 2012 to cover the upstream petroleum sector.

Presently, WMP hold several tenements for mineral groups 1 (2482 B1, 3221B1 and 2138 C1) and 2 (3222 B2, 2840 C2 and 2841 C2), under development either solely or within joint ventures with interested parties.

The JV are as follows:

1-     Haitiam Mining Mauritania (HMM SA) within mining permits n° 2840 & 2841 C2 in the Tiguematine area, Trarza;

2-   Tijirit Exploitation (Tirex SA) through  a participation in equity, whose main project (2480 C2)  is the gold development in Tijirit area, Inchiri;

3-    Legleitat Iron Mauritanie SA (LIM SA), working on the development of an iron mining project (2138 C1) in Legleitat area, Inchiri

Other applications for exploration licences for different groups of minerals (2 and 4) are being submitted.

As for the petroleum activities, WMP SA is seeking for partners willing to invest also in the promising sedimentary Coastal and Taoudeni basins.
